The USC Alumni Association’s mission is to support the overall advancement of USC by engaging all alumni for life, building a culture of philanthropy among the Trojan Family, and being the representative voice for all USC alumni. With more than 500,000 members worldwide, the USC Alumni Association (USCAA) supports affinity networks, alumnae support groups, and multicultural alumni organizations, and it distributes more than $4 Million each year in scholarships to USC students.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
The USC Alumni Association is seeking a Graduate Assistant (GA) to enrich the Trojan Family experience through fostering relationships with both current students and alumni. The GA will be working primarily in the Epstein Family Alumni Center on the University Park Campus (UPC). Directly supervised by the Assistant Director of Lifecycle Engagement, the GA’s primary functions include:
- Developing and implementing a digital engagement strategy for the USC Alumni Association’s student outreach programs including social media content creation, newsletter development, print and digital marketing materials.
- Assisting in planning, executing, and assessing student-alumni events and programs including, but not limited to:
- Networking Night(s)
- Grad Week for Graduating Students
- Alumni Association Signature Events
- Providing volunteer opportunities to USCAA’s SCion scholars as advised by USCAA, track scholar participation requirements and progress, and coordinate scholar-volunteer staffing schedules and logistics at USCAA Signature Events.
- Analyzing student engagement survey data and regular post-event survey results to inform best practices and programming alongside supervisor.
- Building and maintaining partnerships with students, staff, faculty, alums, volunteers, donors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Supporting Alumni Affinity Network volunteer boards with pre- and post-event coordination and logistics.
Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The USCAA encourages graduate and professional students from all programs to apply for the GA position. Strong consideration will be given to those with previous experience in communications, higher education and student affairs administration, alumni relations, public relations, event planning and management, non-profit management, and volunteer management.
Graduate Assistant Requirements:
Maintain enrollment in a USC graduate program (at least 6 units per semester).
Be in good academic standing as defined by their academic program.
Work approximately 20 hours weekly during the fall and spring semesters. Some evening and weekend hours will be required. This position is not eligible for remote work.
Serve a one-year appointment. Upon review of the USCAA and supervisor, this position has the option of renewal if the student continues their studies beyond this academic year.
Be highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated.
Have a working knowledge of the Microsoft, Google Suites, and Canva.
Terms of Employment
Employment Timeline: September 2025 – May 2026.
Compensation: $19.00/Hour for approximately 20 hours per week.
Start Date: September 2025
