USC’s Students with Dependent’s Program is seeking a Graduate Assistant for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. The Graduate Assistant is responsible for planning and implementing student programs/events for the students with dependents population at USC. The Graduate Assistant will also assist in developing and conducting departmental assessments and assets to help shape the direction of the Students with Dependents Program student support programs/events and resources.
Students with Dependents Program is an inaugural initiative within the Student Culture & Community department (SCC) that seeks to engage the USC students with dependents community.

Students with Dependents Program operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the University’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Responsibilities of the Graduate Assistant:
- Plan and implement student programs/events for the Students with Dependents Program at both the UPC and HSC Campuses, as well as online student programs for online graduate students with dependents
- Execute programs/events in accordance to USC’s protecting minors policy
- Collaborate with other SCC departments to organize engagement opportunities for all students
- Develop programming/events for graduate students with dependents with other SCC graduate assistants, student staff and other USC campus partners
- Develop and analyze programmatic/event and departmental assessments and assets, including student needs assessments
- Assist in data tracking and collection for Students with Dependents Program
- Staff outreach tables and orientation events to connect USC students to the Students with Dependents Program
- Complete, submit, and maintain files of paperwork associated with program/event planning, implementation, and evaluation in a timely manner
- Attend weekly meetings with the Students with Dependents Coordinator, and Students with Dependents Program Student and Pro-Staff team
- Perform support tasks such as serving on committees, creating educational displays, developing and distributing materials
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Familiarity with USC’s protecting minors policy
- Demonstrated commitment to developing and enhancing students sense of belonging and community on campus
- Ability to work and carry out projects without everyday direct supervision
- Ability to follow instructions and accept/apply constructive feedback with a positive attitude to improve performance
- Must be a currently enrolled graduate student at USC at least part-time
- Must maintain good conduct standing with USC throughout the period of employment.
Preferred Position Requirements:
- Previous experience in student engagement work, in particular areas related to students with dependents, graduate students, and/or online students
- Facilitation and/or event planning experience
- Work-study funding preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
The Graduate Assistant appointment runs from August 18th, 2025 – May 15th, 2026, excluding academic holidays. The Graduate Assistant must be available to work 10 hours per week on-site, primarily during regular business hours 9am-6pm (though occasional evening and weekend responsibilities may be required). The assistantship pays $18.90 per hour.
