The USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications for a full-time staff member with the title, Student Services Advisor I for the Office of Undergraduate Education. The Student Services Advisor I will counsel and advise prospective high school and undergraduate students and families on admissions to coursework related to the BS Major in “Pharmacology and Drug Development” (PDD), the BS Major in “Biopharmaceutical Sciences” (BPS), and/or minors in “Science and Management of Biomedical Therapeutics” (SMBT), “Foundation in Regulatory Sciences” (FRSC) and “Biopharmaceutical Business” (BPB) offered by USC Mann School.
The Student Services Advisor I will also assist in issues related to financial aid, housing, and academic requirements. The Student Services Advisor I will assist in the conduct of course equivalencies research for various universities, evaluate applications, advise students on academic progress, and provide updates on application progress. The Student Services Advisor I will also assist in the coordinating and scheduling of special events (e.g., Trojan Family Weekend), school visits and receptions.
The Student Services Advisor I will work closely with key stakeholders related to the USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences undergraduate programs. This includes USC Mann faculty and staff, project sponsors, and internal/external collaborators to coordinate and support projects, activities, and events needed to advance the objectives of the USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences undergraduate program.
The applicant must possess bachelor’s education, preferably in life sciences. In addition, the candidate should have documented experience in student advisement or educational support. The ideal candidate should also have strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
The hourly rate range for this position is $28.87 - $32.26. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
